Juz woke up at this time after watching the France vs England Euro match which ended at around 5... It was an exciting game juz that this was not the result i wanted.. 2 - 1 to France... The result did not reflect how well England defended.. especially having the inexperienced Ledley King in the side.. It was a good header from Frank Lampard to beat Fabien Barhez from a David Beckham free kick.. in the 38th minute.. England went into the 2nd half leading 1 - 0..
In the 2nd half, Rooney was brought down by Silvestre and Beckham was given the chance to seal the game.. to make it 2 - 0.. Silve Instead his former colleague, Fabien Barthez dived to the correct side, and saved his ever curling penalty.. and France continued to mount the pressure.. Silvestre is the 2nd player of Man Utd to give away penalty.. after Ronaldo did in the opening game if the tournament.
Erikkson took of Scholes, Rooney and Owen, and brought on Hargreaves, Heskey and Vassell to replace them respectively.. perhaps to rest the formers for the next game... in the 90th minute I thought the game would be won by England.. but the match officials had added another 3 minutes for injury time.. who knows France would score 2 in the injury time to win the match.. reminds me of the champions league final in 1999 between Man Utd and Bayern.. yea.. Heskey gave away a free kick at the edge of the penalty area barging the opposition down.. and up came Zidane to take the free kick.. He curled the ball supremely to the far right of the goalkeeper to score the equaliser.. Later Gerrard, attempted a back pass to David James and was intercepted by Thierry Henry who was left 1 on 1 with the goalkeeper.. He pushed the ball forward and was tripped by James.. and the referee awarded the penalty.. Now another Manchester player gave away a penalty.. this time from Man City... again Zidane took it and shot it to the bottom left post with James diving the wrong way.. The match ended almost immediately after France celebrations..
This result is not fair as France were only given these 2 chances and both were converted.. England worked hard for 90 minutes and prevented France from having chances to shoot with James need not have to make fantastic saves.. Penalty was the only difference in this game.. Beckham missing and Zidance scoring.. Aww.. England gonna have a hard time in this tournament..
