haha the newspaper raised yet another point today. putting the blame on the highly ego-istic David Beckham. It mentions about him wanting to play in the holding role and a team building around him. Take for example roy keane. though he does not make creative passes, he allows his teamates do the build up to goals.. he makes simple passes and puts his teamates in good position and space for them to do so.. But not David Beckham. He wants to play in this similar role. But also wants to create goals. Spoiling the creativity of Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard. The only way i see England creating goals now is Beckham spreading the ball to Shaun Wright Phillips on the right and he takes a run at defenders. and sqaures the ball in, like against Wales and hopefully for someone in Red or white to score. isn't Shaun Wright-Phillips playing on the right, the former position of Becks? I feel that not all of his runs were succesful that day and he can be easily pushed over. it would be better if a right winger cna send crosses in and for a tal striker to head in. simple. so put back Beckham on the right for him to send in crosses. Never mind if no one spread crosses to him. Gerrard and Lampard can create somethhing in midfield then. Let Joe Cole remain on the left but not let him move too close to the strikers' role.

My analogy: David Beckham is this huge benzene ring in the centre of midfield. so electrophilic(ballophilic) that every move has to start from him. He has this huge electron cloud that covers the whole field. wad should be done. Make him a side chain of a huge benzene ring - the england team. The team muz be bigger than him. not vice versa.
