Church Camp 2006: Inward Advance Did i last blog in May? I guess so. Blogging seems to be a one month affair nowadays for me. Is army life boring? You figure out for yourself. haha. But I did manage to get a breakaway from NS! i had 4 days of leave plus a sunday to go to Malaysia for my first ever Agape Baptist Church Camp. Thank God I was there or I would have missed out a lot - physical exchanges and Godly exchanges. Physical Exchanges There were plenty of opportunities and facilities for us (the youth - RAYS) to bond. Namely scheduled activities such as meals, cellathone, cell outing. And there were spontaneous activities like corridoor soccer - the whole level 2 except 2 rooms were occupied by youths =X. okay i will come to that later. Then there was raydio jamming, swimming and splashing, and gyming and running sessions. lol. ok our level 2(most feared by the adults) had around 10 rooms of countless youths, at night it is where the fun begins. with the door latch on, one could scamper around each other's rooms like nobody business'. whether is it to watch DVD or soccer. or to play daider or bridge. or simply to devour the late night snacks such as pratas and ice creams =p. you could actually walk into another person's room without realising it or being noticed. coz usually 225 and 226 are the gathering room. and did i mention? corridoors are converted to a soccer pitch at night and we would be happily stepping on each other's toes and ole-ing one another. how fun. Raydio jamming - the youth band used the long break times to practise the new songs. so cool, out own singers, drummer, guitarists, pianists and even sound men! haha. certainly had so much fun there. I already had withdrawal sympton the nxt day. how bad it was =( Godly exchanges Plenty of them too I must say. The purpose of us being at church camp was that. Sermons on David and Jospeph, workshops on sanctification and latio divina (LD) all help to the cause. Those sessions drew many lessons and I was able to reflect on them. There were altar calls, which allowed me to make refreshed commitments to God and also prayer times before each session to allow us to be immensed in God's Holy presence. This camp was rightfully called the Inward Advance camp where i grew spiritually on the inside. I look forward to nxt yr's church camp! No, that will be too long. tomorrow's service will do. =) | ||
